In the heart of the Minervois region, the vineyard of Château Pépusque spreads out around the village of Pépieux, from the first slopes of the Montagne Noire (Black Mountain) to the Etang de Jouarres (Lake of "Jouarres").
The climate is dry and hot however the fresh and perfurmed moutain winds suits well our syrah. These mountain side soils are rich and produce elegant wines : fresh with a balanced acidity. The wines are distinguished by connoisseurs for their aromatic originality of blackcurrant and liquorice.
Château Pépusque also profits by vineyards in La Livinière’s prestigious terroir, ranged as first appellation village in the AOC of Languedoc.
Renée and Benoît Laburthe went back to Renée’s native place. They started working on Renée's grand-father’s vineyards in 1986 and today maintain the tradition, quality and spirit of the original winemaker. They work with valuable partners in all the various fields of their estate.
